What I Learned in 2012

I wrote my first “What I Learned in” feature at T-Nation back in 2006. A lot has happened in over the past seven years, too. I’m not longer the young whippersnapper picking fights on the T-Nation forum anymore. Rather, I’ve morphed into an old man with a receding hairline – and I prefer to yell at the television and complain about the damn kids who walk on my lawn, rather than arguing with folks on the internet.

  • Eric, you mentioned right at the end about 16 being the age to start specialization (maybe) and playing 2+ sports before that. I couldn’t agree more! I think that is the perfect time to make that choice if you choose to!

  • Holy hell. A raw 1435lbs total at 180 without really trying? That’s insane. I’d struggle to get past 1000lbs at a similar weight (176). I unfortunately have a weak deadlift as I have some lower back issues. Good job on that total.. that’s mighty impressive.
