What I Learned in 2012

I wrote my first “What I Learned in” feature at T-Nation back in 2006. A lot has happened in over the past seven years, too. I’m not longer the young whippersnapper picking fights on the T-Nation forum anymore. Rather, I’ve morphed into an old man with a receding hairline – and I prefer to yell at the television and complain about the damn kids who walk on my lawn, rather than arguing with folks on the internet.

    Eric, you mentioned right at the end about 16 being the age to start specialization (maybe) and playing 2+ sports before that. I couldn’t agree more! I think that is the perfect time to make that choice if you choose to!

    Holy hell. A raw 1435lbs total at 180 without really trying? That’s insane. I’d struggle to get past 1000lbs at a similar weight (176). I unfortunately have a weak deadlift as I have some lower back issues. Good job on that total.. that’s mighty impressive.
