The Best of 2025: Strength and Conditioning Articles

About the Author: Eric Cressey

With 2025 winding down, I’m using this last week of the year to direct you to some of the most popular content of the past 12 months at EricCressey.com. Today, we start with the most popular articles of the year. While I’ve trended away from long-form written content and more to podcasts over the years, but there were still some good ones from 2025 to reincarnate from the archives.

1. It’s 2025, and We’re Still Debating Creatine Use? – Creatine is the most researched supplement in history, but for some reason, a lot of people still haven’t caught on. Give this a read to dig in more on the “state of creatine” in 2025.

2. Frontal Plane First? – Early in my career, I was adamant that athletes needed to dominate the sagittal plane before worrying about the frontal (side to side) and transverse (rotational) planes. Now? I’m not so adamant about it.

3. Why Are Your Upper Traps Tight All the Time? – Upper trap tightness is a common complaint among both athletes and non-athletes, but making it go away isn’t just as simple as stretching it out. In this post, I share three reasons why you might be feeling this way, and more importantly, what to do about it.

4.  Broken Arms, Windows of Adaptation, and Long-Term Athletic Development – In the context of long-term athletic development, I always highlight the concept of window of adaptation. Young, untrained athletes can make massive improvements in a short amount of time when they prioritize fitness qualities or skills that haven’t been challenged previously. In this post, my daughter served as a perfect case study. And as a cool update, she wound up as a gymnastics state champion on the beam (sorry for the Dad brag).

I’ll be back soon with another “Best of 2025” feature. Up next, the top guest posts of the year!
